Curriculum Rationale
The curriculum resources below have been created to fulfil the Process Paper and Project requirements of my Master's of Educational Leadership (M.EdL) Degree program at Vancouver Island University (VIU). My research focuses on the innovative possibilities of mobile devices in education, specifically how Mobile Learning Pedagogy impacts student learning in face-to-face classrooms. The goal of this research and project is to provide educators and students with authentic and technologically relevant Mobile Learning curriculum and resources.
I focused my curriculum build on Grade 7 Science, but the units, lesson ideas, and assessment tools are meant to be guides of how educators could gradually implement Mobile Learning Pedagogy into the face-to-face classroom. I encourage educators to use these resources and adapt them to fit their own classroom needs. The curriculum pieces were created with the intention of being taught in intermediate classrooms in the B.C. educational context, but the majority of the lesson ideas and technological resources could be easily adapted for secondary students.
