B.C. Grant Information

Grants are a vital resource that enable educators to pursue projects in their classroom or school that may not be financially feasible due to budget constraints. In addition to the list below, it is important to explore funding from local or regional foundations, corporations and businesses, as well as provincial agencies and organizations when searching for a grant for your educational project.

The list of grant and loan programs below focus on technology and innovation in the classroom:
1.  SET-BC is a BC Ministry of Education program that works in partnership with all BC school districts and Group I and II Independent Schools. SET-BC provides district and school teams with professional development and training on the use of technology, and also loans technology tools to school teams for use in the classroom and for specific students.
2.  BC Technology is a registered charity that collects donated computers (and all types of other tech devices), trains and hires youth to refurbish the computers, and then distributes the computers to schools, nonprofits, libraries, First Nations groups, and students.  It has worked with the Computers for Schools Plus program for over 25 years to distribute over 170,000 computers.
3.  The Computers for Schools Plus (CFS+) program is brought to you by the Government of Canada, specifically the Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada program.  This program has been operating for over 25 years to serve communities across Canada in providing a wide range of computer equipment to an expanded audience of recipients. Originally, computers were only provided to schools. Today, the CFS+ program also provides computers and other digital devices to assist libraries, not-for-profit organizations, Indigenous communities and eligible low-income Canadians.
